Herbal Gout Remedies Treatment

Gout is a type of arthritis, where one or two joints are usually affected at the same time especially the feet and the ankle. Nowadays, the use of gout herbal remedies is very popular because they provide relief to victims without the use of drug prescriptions. In addition, these natural ways of treating gout will cost you less and offer no side effects.

1. Bilberry - Also known as the European blueberry, which has been used for so many years in treating gout. It contains a lot of anthocyanins that function for decreasing inflammation and minimizing painful swelling. Likewise, it contains antioxidants, which are essential in helping decrease the force or incidence of attacks. They achieve this by reducing the levels of uric acid in the body. This can be bought as an herbal tea orsupplement at nutritional stores.

2. Nettle Root - This is one of the gout herbal remedies known to be effective. It is also called as "stinging nettle" due to its throbbing pain, which helps reduce uric acid when you touch it. Nettle root is considered diuretic, thus helping ease symptoms by allowing the kidneys to flush out unnecessary acid. Also, this herb serves as a natural antihistamine, which helps minimize swelling. This can be used in soups wherein heat removes the stinging ability.

Help For Gout Natural Remedies

When considering all natural cures for gout, one of the first things thatgout sufferersthink about are herbs. Here, you'll discover7 simple herbs commonly used as natural cures for gout.

First though, although the title of this post is All Natural Cures For Gout - 7 Herbs To Cure Gout, I should point out that an actual 'cure' for gout doesn't yet exist. However, the condition is absolutely 'controlable'. And this is what both modern medicine, and natural remedies for gout, are able to do.

So I use the term 'natural cures for gout' in the sense that, by taking the right steps, you can get rid of the symptoms of gout, and, help preventfurther gout attacks.

The key is to get rid of the symptoms of gout and, at the same time, prevent it returning. And you want to prevent recurring gout because, apart from the great pain and inconvenience, frequent gout attacks can leave you with permanently damaged joints and even kidney problems.

So, when considering herbs as natural home remedies for gout, you have to consider reducing the pain and inflammation, plus, reducing your uric acid levels to prevent future attacks.

  3. QUESTION:
Help to get rid of or cease the pain from Gout?
Looking for natural remedies--my Mom is on a lot of medicines already and cannot take NSAIDS. She is also diabetic. Anything helpful is appreciated! thanks!

    • ANSWER:
A new drug is out, but I've researched and celery seed pills can do the same thing as this new drug. I'm a gout sufferer and I've started taking these two natural remedies: taking celery seed pills and drinking water with a 1/2 tsp of baking soda in it. I do both about 3 times a day.

The baking soda water helps to make the body alkaline (the opposite of acidic). An alkaline body gets rid of uric acid more easily, and the uric acid crystals are what cause the pain of gout.

The celery seed has been shown to block the production of a certain chemical in the body, and this chemical is what helps the liver create uric acid. So if that certain chemical is blocked, the theory is the liver won't create as much uric acid. And that's a good thing for a gout sufferer. Estimate is 5.1 million in the U.S. And again, this new drug claims to do the same thing. I'd rather try celery seed, which is what I'm doing.

And yes, diet is very important too. Eat fruits, veggies, drink lots of water, 1 oz for every 2 lbs of body weight, eat sour dairy (cottage cheese, sour cream, plain yogurt such as in a smoothie).

I also take allopurinol, which the script costs me $.65 a month. It helps the body get rid of uric acid. It's not an NSAID, so your mom might be able to take that too. There are no side effects for me with allopurinol.

Best of luck to you and your mom!

Btw, the advice about avoiding vitamin C... not so sure about that... vitamin C helps the body to be alkaline... oranges, lemons, limes are all on the list of good fruits to eat. So I feel that vitamin C is just fine and should be eaten.

  4. QUESTION:
Anyone have a good herbal remedy for gout?......help!?
I have a friend that's suffering from it and he doesn't like taking the pills. Anyone knows a natural remedy? Appreciate your output on this one. Thanks!
Thanks to all, who put their time and effort to give their input on this topic. I'll certainly let my friend know about all your advices. Hopefully it'll work. God bless.

    • ANSWER:
Gout is caused by uric acid in the body.

the solution is to drink more fluids and flush the kidneys so the body can get rid of the acid.

if this does not help in a day or so; go to the doctor. there may be a problem with the kidneys.

We are supposed to drink 1/2 a gallon of water a day. Most people do not drink more than half that amount.

Herbal Gout Remedies

Gout is a form of arthritis that takes place when there is an extreme quantity of uric acid in our body. This then leads to the formation of tiny crystals of urate that settles in our tissues particularly the joints.

Now we have heard that prevention is always better than any cure. In order to prevent having gout or experiencing any gout attacks, try to eat foods that are considered to be anti-gout such as strawberries and cherries. In addition to that, make it a point to sustain a healthy blood pressure since hypertension makes you prone to gout attacks.

You should spend some time with your doctor and discuss your medications. This is because some medications prevent your body to remove uric acid which can then trigger gout. One of the best things you can do for yourself is to avoid stress, get plenty of rest, and avoid straining your joints.

In addition, you need to avoid foods that trigger gout like those that are high in protein and those that are high in purines. Foods that are considered to be high in purines would include smelt, sardines, mussels, herring and hearts. Also, try to refrain from eating sweetbreads and yeast since these are also high in purines.

To date, the American Medical Association has already listed foods that you should try to cut down on especially if you are prone to gout. Some important tips to remember would be to avoid drinking alcohol such as beer and wine, as well as eating offal or organ meats like tongue, liver and kidney. Also, try to reduce your intake of certain fishes and shell fish like shrimp, scallops and anchovies.

Additional foods that trigger gout may also include consommé, gravies, meat extracts as well as rich and creamy sauces. Moreover, it is best to reduce your intake of asparagus, beans, cauliflower, lentils, mushrooms, peas and spinach.

Other foods that trigger gout which are considered to be moderately high in purines and ones that you should abstain from would be veal, turkey, trout, salmon, pheasant, mutton, haddock, goose and bacon.

Now if you are currently suffering from gout attacks, you may opt to make use of homeopathic remedies for gout which are normally sold over-the-counter in numerous specialty and health food stores. Examples of these would include Nux vomica, Ledum, Colchicum and Aconite.

You may also make use of some home gout remedy such as baking soda for gout as well as following a low purine diet. Additionally you should really test for lead poisoning. Aside from that, you may also want to use heat therapy products for your gout. Additionally, try to keep your weight within the average range for your height. Also, maintain a reasonable exercise program and take potassium supplements.

If you choose to, you may also make use of complementary and alternative therapies to combat your gout attacks. These may include gout acupuncture, hypnotherapy and psychotherapy; meditation, yoga, and reflexology.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
Can anyone suggest some herbal remedies for gout?
My husband has been prescribed with medication for gout, which is causing side effects and doesn't seem to be clearing the problem up
    Many Thanks in advance.

    • ANSWER:
      Hi Rosie,

Some of the problems related to conventional medications for GOUT are

Pain relievers such as Tylenol or other more potent analgesics are used to manage pain. Anti-inflammatory agents such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) are used to decrease joint inflammation, but common side effects of NSAIDS include irritation of the gastrointestinal system, stomach ulcers and intestinal problems , and even intestinal bleeding. Corticosteroids, such as prednisone, given in short courses, are powerful anti-inflammatory agents for treating acute gout; yet long-term chronic use of corticosteroids is discouraged because of serious long-term side effects. Probenecid (Benemid) and sulfinpyrazone (Anturane) are medications that are commonly used to decrease uric acid blood levels by increasing the excretion of uric acid into the urine. Since these drugs can cause kidney stones patients with a history of kidney stones should seek other options. Allopurinol (Zyloprim) lowers the blood uric acid level by preventing uric acid production, but medication is used with caution in patients with poor kidney function, as they are at a particular risk of developing side effects, including rash and liver damage.

Herbal and homeopathic remedies have been used for centuries to treat a number of conditions, including gout. Harpagophytum procumbens (indigenous to the Kalahari Desert and is exclusive to Africa) has been used for many years to promote joint health and stability.

Glucosamine sulphate has been approved for the promotion of joint and cartilage health in more than 70 countries throughout the world, while Boswellia serata extracts address swelling joints, pain and tender tissues naturally, without side effects.

Check out these 2 hugely popular remedies (one of which is specific for gout) and see if that helps. http://www.healthherbsandnutrition.com/products/goutgone.htm and http://www.healthherbsandnutrition.com/products/jointeaseplus.htm

      Hope all this helped

      Good Luck!

  2. QUESTION:
Are there any natural or herbal remedies for Gout?
Anything that is not prescription since my husband refuses to see a doctor.

    • ANSWER:
Gout is a painful way to go through life, I'm a fellow gout sufferer. The things that really helped me get through an attack are indomethacine, colchicine. Those are both scripts from a doctor. Would like to think your hub could see his way to get relief from modern medicine.

Also, allopurinol in a script will help remove uric acid from the system. This has helped me too. I take it every day, it's insanely inexpensive, and it has no side effects. Allopurinol is probably most important for me to stay away from gout.

Everything that's been said above are good non-prescription things to do if one gets gout. Drink an oz of water for every 2 lbs of body weight every day. Stay away from high fructose corn syrup. I had to give up beer almost completely *whimper* and that was very difficult for me.

Just a thought: your hub is willing to listen to advice from strangers on health issues, but not a doctor? I understand completely, just because a doctor says do this or don't do that, doesn't make it 100% correct all the time. But if the hub cares about his health, he needs to open up a bit.

Another couple of items that help me: celery seed pills, they may help the liver not create so much uric acid. And, mix 1/2 tsp of baking soda in 12 oz of water and sip on that, helps to make the body more alkaline (opposite of acidic) and it may help get rid of the uric acid.

As you can probably tell by now, two things are very important: don't add extra uric acid (purines) to the body, and help the body get rid of the extra uric acid.

One last thing, on the red wine comment: red wine is probably the ONLY alcohol that a gout sufferer can drink, as long as it's in moderation. Red wine is ok. It's the beer and hard alcohol that is really bad.

Good luck to you and your hub!

  6. QUESTION:
What is the best natural (herbal?) remedy for gout?

    • ANSWER:
Gout is caused by a buildup of uric acid in the bloodstream. The best and fastest way to treat it is by dietary change. Big contributor to gout is eating preserved meats (lunchmeat of all kinds and jerky) and eating lots of liver and organ meats. Beer consumption and consumption of certain fishes (anchovies, herring, sardines) also makes it worse. So if you want to feel better fast, first, drink a lot of water as you need to clear the kidneys. 10-12 glasses a day. Switch to eating just chicken and turkey, or if you are able, go vegetarian for awhile. But no matter what, no organ meats, and no preserved meats of any kind. Reduce your consumption of alchohol to zero if you are able, especially beer. Take fish oil caps, about 3000 mg a day. Number one factor is getting the fatty meats out of your diet. And needless to say, eat your veggies. Do this and you will feel better very quickly. I have seen gout appear in one day and disappear in one day, so depending on how well you adjust your diet and get your uric acid level down, you could be feeling better right away.

There are no new secrets of gout, on the contrary its one of the older known diseases. Any internist should be able to handle your problem. If you dont have a good relationship with your doctor, please find someone you can trust.

Gout comes from overproduction or lack of secretion of certain types of protein/amino acids. The true key is to decrease production. 99% OF THE TIME THIS MEANS CHANGING YOUR DIET. That's your real answer. Again gout diets can be found all over the internet.

Treatment is aimed at decreasing production or increasing elimanation of these proteins. It doesn't sound like you are on anything for treatment.

Indomethicin is a pain medication it treats nothing.

I would absolutely NOT take an herbal for gout.

Healthy Diet For Gout Sufferers

I have gout. And my first gout attack was a very painful introduction to a condition that is more common than most people think. It completely blindsided me. I had no idea that my diet (and a few other factors) had been putting me at risk for gout. Who knows how long this disease had been stalking me ready to strike. I have since learned that a diet loaded with foods high in purines can cause and aggravate gouty arthritis (gout is a type of arthritis).

Just a short story about how my first gout attack happened:

I was on vacation with my wife and we were staying at a hotel in Denver, Co. We were having a good time and splurging; a night on the town (a few beers), a nice meal (shrimp cocktail, prime rib and creamed spinach), we were having a great time (a few more beers).

I popped some aspirin because I always take aspirin for anything that ails me (I heard it is good for hangovers too), and I took my high blood pressure medication (a diuretic). The next morning I woke up and my right foot had swollen up so big that I could not even get my shoe on. And talk about PAINFUL, it virtually took me 5 minutes to put a sock on and I could barely walk!

I thought to myself, "What the hell is going on?" So I popped some more aspirin for the pain (Oh boy, big mistake - I'll explain later). Long story short, I had to go see a doctor and he told me I was having a gout attack. When he listed the dietary risk factors for gout, I immediately recognized that a lot of the foods I had been eating coupled with some drugs I was taking (and being overweight did not help matters) had made me a walking "gout time bomb."

Healthy Diets For People With Gout

Gouty arthritis accounts for nearly 5% of arthritis cases and is just one of 100 known types of arthritis. Gouty arthritus -commonly just called 'gout' - is an extremely painful condition that medical science has so far not found a proven cure for. Here, you will discover just how your diet impacts gouty arthritis for good and bad...

The symptoms of gout - redness, swelling, inflammation, heat and excruciating pain - are caused by uric acid crystals which have formed in the joints, tendons and tissues. The most common joints are the big toe, ankle and knee, but, almost any joint can be affected.

The uric acid crystals are formed from excess uric acid in the bloodstream. And uric acid is, itself, formed when natural chemical compounds called "purines" breakdown in our body.

Our kidneys manage this uric acid at healthy levels by "flushing" excess uric acid out of our system via urine. Sometimes, though, they don't work effectively and we end up with too much uric acid in our bloodstream, leading to uric acid gout.

There are mainstream drugs that are commonly given on prescription which, although they can be effective in reducing the pain and other symptoms of gouty arthritis, won't actually cure it. There is no proven 'medical' cure for gout. Plus, there are many unfortunate side effects with these drug-based therapies.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
Is the Bible really a Health(Holy) book written to save lives from disease(caused by sin)?
    My realization:

Jesus was a healer who healed people of disease. He was a messenger to help people live good lives and to love each other and connect with the universal energy all around us(God).

Disease is what happens when people disobey Gods laws of food, morality. When you eat bad food(which is a sin), you accumulate demons(toxins) inside you, so that you become sick and diseased.

When Jesus was casting "demons" out of people, "demons" meant that of excess toxins stored in the body when people ate unhealthy food(meat, bread, milk, alcohol, cheese) and chose to live unloving, unforgiving lives.

Disease is what happens when people disobey Gods laws of food, morality. When you eat bad food(which is a sin), you accumulate demons(toxins) inside you, so that you become sick and diseased.

Jesus recommended fasting for spiritual connection to God(the universal energy), so that people could break themselves down in order to gain rejuvenation and health, and become youthful again, thus "reborn". Jesus wanted us to eat fruits and vegetables in order to live healthy and happy lives.

Jesus water fasted for 40 days in order to regain health and true connection to the universal power. Jesus mentioned that people can live to be 1000 years old if they fast for 40 days every once in a while, eat only fruits and vegetables, and live morally good lives all their life. Jesus recommended good sleeping habits also. Jesus was the only person in history to ever awaken a human being from the dead. No one else could do it except him.

When people perform "exorcisms", they try to get toxins out of the body so that the people can become "whole" again. This is where the word "exercise" comes from-cardio and weight lifting exercises are meant to get rid of the toxins out of the body through "exorcism"

"Heaven" was a term used to describe happiness and connectedness with the Holy(healthy) Spirit. You will go to heaven means "you will go to a place of happiness and health"

"Spirit" -the energy that is inside of us, that is separate from the body. The mind, the brain are not the spirit. The "life force" or the energy that gives you life is inside you and has another name which is the "spirit". When you die, this energy goes out of the body and can either live in the "eternal fire", which is the "hell"(an unhappy place) or "heaven". The "soul" does not have emotions, cannot see, cannot hear. The body goes to the "sheol", which is the grave. In other words, if you die happy, you will be happy afterwords. If you die with sadness, you will be sad afterwords.

No. It is a Holy Book.

      God exists.

  2. QUESTION:
    Question for LDS?
Why do so many stories seem like exaggerated borrowings from the Bible? Examples:
Ammon killed six sheep rustlers with a sling (Alma 17:36) vs. David's killing of Goliath. (1 Samuel 17:50)
Pillar of Fire. (Exodus 13:21) vs. (1 Nephi 1:6)
Lord instructs Noah to build the Ark (Genesis 6:14) / Lord instructs Nephi to build ship (1 Nephi 17:8) / Lord instructs Jaredites to build barges (Ether 2:16)
Jaredites brought flocks, two of a kind, seeds. (Ether 2:1) vs. Noah doing the same in (Genesis 7:9)
Raising dead. (Matthew 10:8) vs. (3 Nephi 19:4)
Temple of Solomon supposedly took 180,000 people seven and a half years to build (1 Kings 5, 6) / The few in number Nephites supposedly did it in less than 20 years after arriving (2 Nephi 5).
Calming Storm (1 Nephi 18:8-21) vs. (Matthew 8:23-27).
Men in Fire (Helaman 5:22-24) vs. (Daniel 3).
Feeding Multitude (3 Nephi 20:3-7) out of nothing / In Bible, Christ multiplied existing food (Matthew 14).
Christ heals masses in Book of Mormon (3 Nephi 17:9) / in Bible Jesus healed as he encountered (Luke 9:42).
Multitude feels wounds in Book of Mormon (3 Nephi 11:13) / In Bible, Thomas felt wounds (John 20:27).
Book of Mormon prophecies of Christ specific / Bible prophecies veiled (actually non-existent unless scripture misquoted or "prophecies" stretched to have two meanings).
Book of Mormon Christ is completely accepted / In Bible he is rejected.
Aminadi deciphered writing on the wall (Alma 10:2-3) like Daniel (Daniel 5).
Daughter of Jared danced before the king (Ether 8) like the daughter of Herodias (Matthew 14) (decapitation followed in both cases).
Daughters of Lamanites abducted like the daughters of Shiloh.
Jews of Old Testament were monotheists / Pre-Christ Jews of Book of Mormon were not.
moonman....looks pretty obvious to me it is a copy of the Bible.
    cadisney.....huh?
Straw Dog480...I suggest you read the last chapter in the Book of Revelation, and take it literally.

    • ANSWER:
Funny how the Book of Mormon quotes the King James Version of the bible (1611),

  3. QUESTION:
How do you promote good health and longevity of life?
I've been reading a book on Miracle Food Cures from the Bible and I have been reading on all the foods, the herbs, and the teas that the people used found written in holy scriptures and I thoroughly am convince that God wants people to eat right in order to maintain good health and longevity of life. There are many people who receives healing from cancers, diseases and sicknesses when they look to God first as their source of healing and then doing what His word says to keep their healing but many times even if God provides physical healings, if people who have been healed go back and eat unhealthy foods, they lose their healing and some even blame God to why the sickness came back. Again God wants His people spiritually and physically healthy, and as we apply both food for our spirit and foods found written in His Word, our lives will be a sweet smelling savor, even if we eat Sardines in Olive oil. I suggest buying the book "Miracle Food Cures from the Bible" and not only be used of God to lay you hands on the sick for healing but teach them how to stay healthy..

    • ANSWER:
I am reading something that was sent to me and I will share it with you!! (Fruit!) ;)

  4. QUESTION:
How much of the Bible are we meant to interpret as fact?
If the first documentations of Jesus (epistles of Paul) didn't appear until (give or take) 40 years AFTER Jesus death how much if any is meant to be accurate information. If no documents of world war II didn't appear until 40 years later you couldn't take half of what was being told to be even start to consider it to be 50 percent accurate. Unlike WWII which was a world wide massive event, Jesus was one guy, a needle in a haystack in a huge world of civilisation and too early at the start of a new concept for anyone to investigate his existance. 40 years later, this documentation, is it really accurate, did half of what was documented really happen? Could it have been contrived, exagerated, bits added?
With the arrival of the epistles of Paul could a bunch of authors just added more stories over the centuries to this tale of Jesus?
Mankind has created many fictional characters and authors have added to their tales over time only the original author didn't claim his character to be factual.
Even if it was possible,I don't think the apostles ran about after Jesus with notepads writing down everything he said word for word, from which I don't see anything in the bible stating that the apostles possessed a few years worth of recorded documentation, so I'm assuming much of the new testament is written out of memory.
Can any of you say that you can record conversations accurately that took place 20 years prior to them happening?
How much accuracy is acceptable for people to believe bible teachings? 20, 30, 40 percent? or is it one of those scenarios where "if it's good enough for every one else then it's good enough for me"?
It's things like this that make me doubt the book because I don't trust other peoples words, over time stories change and being 40 years since the 1st documentations appeared, with the cult not kicking off in full force untill many years after before it's fanbase started to grow rapidly, before you know it, it was too late to debunk. (sigh) I guess we'll have to take for granted that this Jesus guy could do a lot of awesome stuff, walking on water, healing, feeding and filling hundreds with only small rations of food etc. Why need proof when you can simply have faith.

    • ANSWER:
THe clear testimony of the authors is that they are writing out of first hand information.
If Dwight D. Eisenhower wrote a book about World War II in 1960, fifteen years after the war, would you contend that his book should not be taken as factual?

      Luke begins his Gospel:

"Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. Therefore, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught."
      Luke 1:1-4

Luke actually included himself as a participant in some of the events recorded in the Book of Acts.

The author of the Gospel of John claims to be an eyewitness to the events of the crucifixion:

"But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus' side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. The man who saw it has given testimony, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe."
      John 19:33-35

He reiterates this in his first epistle (letter).......

"That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ."
      I John 1:1-3

Peter also affirms to be an eyewitness to the events that are recorded in the Gospels:

"We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with him on the sacred mountain. "
      II Peter 1:16-18

So you either believe the testimony of the authors, or you believe what suits you. If you don't believe the truth, the only that is left is the lie.

  5. QUESTION:
Why do Christians love their mystic religion, but despise the mysticism when their Bible is jam packed with it?
I'm a Christian who admits that the Bible is a mystic book no matter how much pastors try to convince me that mysticism is evil. Here are

    some examples:

    The Garden of Eden.
The Plagues of Egypt (came from a realm other than Earth's realm).
The Israelites were protected by the blood of a lamb on their doorposts.from the plagues.
Moses reading the mind of Aaron as God spoke to Aaron.
Moses performing the miracles before Pharaoh.
The crossing of the Red Sea led by Moses and Aaron.
The crossing of the Jordon led by Joshua.
The slaying of 33,000 or so when Josha broke the pitcher.
King David had a seer who was a mystic.
Daniel's telepathy to Nebuchadnezzar to determine what Nebuchadnezzar's dream was and to interpret it.
    Daniel's prophetic dreams.
Daniel changes dimensions by staying unharmed in the furnace.
Daniel had a special relationship with animals and he survived the chamber of lions.
A whole lot of other stuff in the OT.
Jesus of Nazareth's birth announced by beings beyond this realm.
Jesus healed people with power from beyong this realm.
Jesus transfigured before three apostles on the mount.
Jesus spoke from a different realm, bewildering everyone.
Jesus identified what demons are and he had the supernatural power to cast them out.
Jesus raised Lazarus from permanent sleep.
Jesus said that he must transform as a seed of wheat transforms into a plant of wheat, bearing food and more seeds (John 12:24 rewritten to

    transform into a truthful statement).
Jesus rose from permanent sleep and floated into Heaven.
Apostle Paul supposedly became an apostle without ever meeting Jesus in the flesh.
Apostle Paul did the same miracles Jesus did except rising from permanent sleep.
Apostle Paul rose up into an unknown realm (the third Heaven)
Apostle John had a dream of Revelation and he wrote about it, describing the end of mankind.

All of these examples hint that there's a realm other than our natural realm where God resides. If Christians believe in this realm, they fit the definition of 'mystic.' Why then do they say mysticism is evil when they themselves are mystics?
Definitions for mysticism: a religion based on mystical communion with an ultimate reality.
    obscure or irrational thought .
Mysticism (from the Greek μυστικός, mystikos, an initiate of a mystery religion) is the pursuit of communion with, identity with, or conscious awareness of an ultimate reality, divinity, spiritual truth, or God through direct experience, intuition, instinct or insight.
    etc. Get my drift?
Bat and Schism gave good answers so far. Eric plainly stated the obvious, completely avoiding the question.
Eric, mystic experiences are sent by God and there are other mystical experiences sent by Satan. Since Jesus said that he is the way, Jesus is the only godly way to open the door (pineal gland). He's the only way to the Father. Just opening the door is a mystical experience.

  6. QUESTION:
If the bible were corrupt like Muslims say would Yahweh just stand there and watch?
Eye Witnesses of Past Bible Events
Some clear light was thrown on the way Bible writers might have had an eye-witness knowledge of events already past. One of our naturally most ignorant and untalented boys was, on more than one occasion when "in the Spirit," an eye witness of the principal historical events of the Old and New Testaments. He saw the plagues of Egypt: the frogs in the King's palace, the flies in Pharaoh's food, the locusts, the eldest son dead with the whole family in consternation. He also saw Elijah and Elisha cross the Jordan, the chariots of fire, and Elijah's ascension. Daniel was seen in the lion's den with his angel guard, and other Old Testament events were likewise seen.

This boy was also given visions of the miracles of Christ. He saw the temptations of the Lord. The devil in the form of a handsome young man led the Lord to a high mountain and in vision showed Him the Kingdoms of the world. Angels followed Jesus where ever He went. There were visions of Christ walking on the water, healing the sick, and opening the eyes of the blind. This boy and others saw the passion of the Lord Jesus, His resurrection, and His ascension.

At first I wondered at these visions of past events. I then remembered that with God there is no "past," "present," and "future." He is the Great I AM. All things are alike present with Him. Since the Holy Spirit is His Spirit, by visions and His revelations of the Spirit, "past," "present," and "future" may, in God's economy, be made "present" to any individual to whom the Lord chooses to make such revelations.

These revelations of the past to Adullam corroborate the inspiration of the Bible. It was easy for God to take Moses and others by visions through events already past or through future events as an eye witness sees present events and for them to be able to record the past, the present, and the future in the one and only Book that records the end from the beginning and the beginning from the end.

    Recording Revelations from God

The Holy Spirit showed us by illustration how some parts of the Bible became divine records of supernatural revelations. When the children were "in the Spirit," de scribing scenes they were seeing in vision, the Spirit caused one boy, who was also in a trance lost "in the Spirit," to sit down and go through the motions of writing item by item what the others were seeing and describing. Thus anyone should be able to see how easy it was for God to write a Bible. One could record what another saw and described.

If God can now take an ignorant, illiterate beggar boy from a dirty Chinese street, or a half wild little tribes boy from a remote mountain solitude, can fill him with the Holy Spirit, and have him "in the Spirit" escorted by angels see as an eye witness the things beyond the veil—things of the present, things of the past, things to come––has it not always been just as easy for God by visions to reveal everything that is written in the Bible to any vessel of His choosing and have a Barak sit by his side to write just what was seen and revealed, recording word for word any and every prophecy just as it came from the Lord God?

If our boys can be caught into the presence of the Lord and come back saying, "The Lord said," could not prophets of old even record their own prophecy or visions and say with absolute truth, "Thus saith the Lord?"

How God, with whom past, present, and future is all the same, can reveal past, present, and future events as present events, I do not know. The Bible says he can. The Bible says He did. Adullam knows He still does.

If men ever spoke in prophecy as they were moved by the Holy Spirit, if men were ever "in the Spirit on the Lord's Day" and caught up to heaven, if men were ever given visions "in the year King Uzziah died," they can still be moved upon by the Holy Spirit and prophesy. They can still be caught away "in the Spirit" and see the unseen worlds beyond the veil. They can still see visions any number of years after King Uzziah died.

The same God is still on the same throne, reigning over the same world, dealing with the same kind of evil hearts, through the same sort of men, with the same kind of dispositions and passions Elijah had.

Since God does now in this day reveal Himself through prophecy, vision, and revelations—as He is revealing Himself all around the world—he has, therefore, revealed Himself just as the Bible says He did in days of old to the prophets and saints.

In this wicked age, in the midst of this present unbelieving, perverse generation, the Lord can and will prove that what He has written in the Bible is the word of the living God. He can and does move in the midst of a believing people in supernatural ways through gifts of the Holy Spirit, confirming the wo

Yes, God would because there was no need protect the Bible.
It was only sent to one group of people, and it was not the perfected truth.

God's final revelation, the Quran, was sent exactly for that reason.

    • ANSWER:
Catholics and Protestants accept the same 27 inspired books as making up the New Testament. But when we turn to the Old Testament, some significant differences emerge.

The decision finally determining the exact number of books accepted as inspired Scripture for Catholics was not made until the Council of Trent in 1546. The Council fathers accepted 46 Old Testament books, following what appeared to them as a firm tradition of the Church from ancient times. The leaders of the Protestant Reformation, on the other hand, rejected some books agreed upon at Trent.

The seven disputed books are: Tobit, Judith, Wisdom, Sirach, Baruch and 1 and 2 Maccabees. There are also some sections of Esther and Daniel not considered inspired Scriptures by Protestants. Protestants call these seven books the apocryphal books. Catholics, however, call these same disputed books deuterocanonical.

Fortunately, today, modern translations of the Bible are published in Catholic editions. These translations will include an imprimatur (assurance of a Catholic bishop that the text is in line with Catholic teaching) and the seven deuterocanonical books.

  10. QUESTION:
Bible verses I could use and critiques please, it's a faith statement.?
This is the essay, see added details for my question
C.S. Lewis once defined faith as “the art of holding on to things your reason once accepted, despite your changing moods.” Though I still have many things to learn there are some beliefs that I have always clung to. There are that big ones that all Christian’s believe, such as the fact that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, how much he loves us, heaven, hell, etc. Though I strongly believe in all of those things, I think the base of my faith comes purely from observing the world around us. With everything in such a perfect balance, I can’t fathom all of this perfection forming from a tiny bacteria or stardust. Aside from evolution, the big bang, and other scientific theories as to how the world was created, I have found most science to only be a further confirmation of my faith. I don’t understand how scientists can study how plants take in carbon dioxide and produce oxygen while we humans do the exact opposite, along so many other completely perfect systems in place on this earth, and not acknowledge that some greater thought had to have gone into it all.
It is easy to look at all the suffering, from global wars to problems in our family and ask, “How could a loving and all powerful God allow people to die of starvation when all they needed was a little rain and food?” But another belief that I have clung to that no matter how hard a circumstance you are faced with, is that God has a plan and reasoning behind everything, no matter how incomprehensible it may be. In a book I recently read called The Case for Faith, by_____, the author interviewed _____who told a story that put this into perspective for me. He spoke of a hunter who comes across a bear in a trap. In order to calm it so that he can help it he is forced to tranquilize the bear for a short time, then push it further into the trap in order to get it out. The bear would assume that the hunter is only trying to hurt the bear but when he awakens later to be free he will find he was wrong. In this metaphor the hunter is like God and we are the bear. Sometimes our limited intelligence is unable to comprehend why God would put us through some hardships we go through. Looking back on my life so far I have no regrets. Everything that I have gone through so far has eventually worked out for the better, or led me closer to God.
Through out a good portion of my life my relationship with God was based on my need. When I needed him I would ask but otherwise I was very independent. There was camp and church retreats, which always brought me to those spiritual highs but they only lasted so long. It wasn’t until my parent’s relationship started to get rough that I really discovered my need for his love and power. I vividly remember one night after a bad fight. As I heard my mom’s car drive away I went down to my room and cried out to God asking him to bring her home, twenty minutes later she was back. Each night I prayed that God would work in their relationship and heal it. Well God is truly omnipotent for their relationship is now stronger than ever. During this time I didn’t understand why God would put my family and I through such turmoil, but now I see how he has used it to bring us all closer to Him as well as each other. I have found that when we are at our weakest we are more open to God’s presence.
I understand that the troubles that I have faced in life are nothing compared to the suffering that some have gone through. I feel guilty that I was privileged enough to be born into a privileged Christian home while others have never heard of Jesus’ love and are forced, each day, to wonder if they will find enough to eat to last them another day. This consciousness has driven me to my love for serving others. I have been on a few missions trip and was on the service team at my church last year in which we planned and attended weekly service events. My ultimate dream would be to spend at least a month on a mission’s trip in Africa. We are called to teach Gods children of his love for without it we cannot truly live.
Now that I have learned that I cannot get through life without God I am looking for the next step. I am looking for an environment that will help me to be successful after graduation by providing me with the skills I need to make a difference in people’s lives, but one that will also give me lifelong relationships and experiences that will strengthen my relationship with God. I feel that is the perfect place for that.
I'm applying to a baptist christian university and this is the statement I was asked to respond to.
-Describe your relationship with Jesus Christ, sharing experiences and/or influences that are contributing to your spiritual development. We are interested in both the sum of your thoughts and the way in which you articulate them to us. This personal statement adds to our picture of who you are and is crucial to our evaluation of your application. (A typical essay will be at least two to four paragraphs in length.)
I have been told the first quote doesn't work so I was wondering if you know of any bible verses or quotes that i could use that would connect to my essay. I need tips on my organization and flow, and formatting, and even content. I don't really know what I should put in here and what I shouldn't..
K itll take 2-3 mins to read tops, i seriously need critiques

    • ANSWER:
Romans 8:16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs--heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. 18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.

20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.

23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. 24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

I feel guilty that I was privileged enough to be born into a privileged Christian home

      Take out the second "privileged"

I feel guilty that I was privileged enough to be born into a Christian home.

Maybe put in the word "loving" instead - to be born into a loving Christian home.

  11. QUESTION:
What if the world could stop separating and learn to join together?
No, this isn't some camp fire circle: peace, love and singing crap. I'm talking about the human race working as one. Note: I'm not asking why. I know why we aren't joined together. I'm asking, what if we could, then what?

To elaborate: historically, humans have used everything from skin color, social status, religion, politics, food choices, sex, sexual orientation, appearance, geographical location and many more factors in attempting to create a separation of humanity. This behaviour has largely been responsible for "the individual" mentality that pervades our race today. Assuming, as a whole, our race possessed the constitution to give up selfishness, perspective based moralities and other useless factors, what would be the next step for us, as humanity?

I'm looking for input based on the perfected human race quantification as to what various people think would be next for us. By a perfected human race, I do not mean being immortal, super-human, indestructible, "god-like" or any other nonsense as such. What I do mean, is being able to function as a race, without regard to separation factors or personal selfishness. To be able to work, as a race, on an objective, without being motivated by base greed. For each and every person to be able to set aside their own desires for "the true greatest good" (note: not "the greater good").

In example: a world wherein doctors heal others, not for money or fame or status, but because they are gifted in healing and medical practice and do so because they want to and should. A world where science is progressed for understanding, not misguided application. Where people could share even their homes with total strangers as nobody would be motivated to steal or bum them. A world where death is accepted and understood instead of feared irrationally and being circumvented unnecessarily. A world wherein leaders are chosen based on their ability to what is needed of them and not for how much money they have or "because they are the lesser of two evils". A world where people use only what they need, do not waste that which they do not need, seek balance instead of superiority.

I know, I know... It's a pipe-dream. A little kid's magical pony and rainbow filled world. But what if?

Note: things like sickness, disease, and even war would likely still exist. Sickness is a normal part of deconstruction, it happens, same with disease. While war would likely be a nil factor for humanity betwixt itself, it would still likely occur with other life forms in time who may or may not understand us for various reasons. (Don't discredit alternate life as to claim that our planet is the only inhabited one is both vain and ignorant.)

So, what do you think? If you lived in a world that was wherein humans had reached such a pinnacle, what do you think our next feat would be? What direction would we be going? Why? What kind of lifestyle do you think we'd lead? What varying attributes would you purport to be directly correlated to a perfected state of our existence? Do you think such a future is possible and why?

What I'm hoping to NOT see is entry after entry of religion based afterlife stories. I don't care that "that's what heaven is like!", I care that heaven is not here because of religion. I don't want to see, "that's what god promised us!", I see that "god" likes to make vague promises which get fulfilled about twice a year, every year since 1190~. (even earlier depending on which "god" we're actually talking about I suppose...) I don't want to see Bible, or any other holy book for that matter, references and verses in copy/paste format as a response. These are not valid to the question I am asking; please do not make me down-vote enough of them to be able to read the actual responses.

As for my personal view of perfection, this is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. There is much more to it, but I'm sure even what I have posted so far will be viewed as a wall-of-text and read by few.

Thank you in advance to those of you who read and respond accordingly.
A couple nice answers a couple not as nice... But nobody answered the questions... Paragraph 7 people... Your thoughts on these things?

    • ANSWER:
I will answer based on the question alone... If that ever happens, this world is going to be a paradise... When the world is divided, there's chaos... The world as "one"...? Wow... that would be heaven on earth..

EDIT: on par. 7: Honestly, I don't think such a future is possible, unless a "miracle" happens if you know what I mean... If and only if this happens, I think humans will be completely lost... Why? Everything will be completely strange because this is not something we are totally "used" to and familiar... Though it would be something really wonderful and an "answered prayer" for majority, this will seem like a life in the third dimension...

  12. QUESTION:
Do you believe in jesus christ?

I mean what if the bible was just a book they read back then like the twilight, maybe it was just for entertainment. Also why not believe in aliens, there are pictures than were drawn or painted than had space ship like things in the backgrounds, what are they? 14. QUESTION:
My parents seem to have converted to Christianity overnight and I don't want them to influence me!?
Sorry for the long story...but I couldn't help writing so much >.<...

Me and my parents used to be very religious Buddhists! We went to the pagoda, we prayed and we even joined a Buddhist camp once. When my puberty set in my belief faded and now I would say that I’m only a Buddhist by name. The only thing I believe in is reincarnation and other than that I don’t practise anything.

About half a year ago I discovered Islam by someone who’s Muslim and I do research about it ever since. Firstly, because the religion is fascinating and secondly, because I’m f*cking afraid of hell =P What if Islam is the true religion?

A couple of times I considered converting but every time I’m afraid of doing that step. I’m currently am kinda stuck between God and the his non˗existence.

So, three weeks ago my parents got to know new friends who are like very very religious Christians!!! My parents, especially my mum, are totally amazed by these people. Don’t ask me why! They told my parents stuff like: A woman had a disease which the doctor wasn’t capable of healing or weakening it. She prayed and prayed to Jesus or God and all of a sudden her weak liver was cured! The doctor couldn’t explain it and was amazed.
My mum has a kidney disease and I have the feeling that she converted to Christianity because of that story to a big part. I’m a bit worried that this certain Jesus she believes in will disappoint her when she realizes that her problems won’t vanish that easily.

Yesterday I was eating my sandwhich with cream cheese ♥ My parent’s new friends were invited to come around and they presented us food and when they saw my sandwhich they said that I don’t have to eat my lousy sandwhich anymore. Because Jesus sent them many clients (they run a shop) and I don’t have to worry about them spending money on food for us. Gosh …

Or today at breakfast with my parents! I was about to grab that stuff into my mouth and my mum whispers something all of a sudden with closed eyes! A mealtime prayer…I don’t believe it -.-
How can things like that happen overnight? Other than that my mum keeps reading phrases of the bible and other stuff of Christian books out loud for me. And they said that they’ll visit the church on Sundays from now on.

I told my mum that I don't believe in God and she just said that I shouldn't say that again in front of her. The devil might hear that and come to us. And they already removed all buddhists statues from the bedroom.

Were they brainwashed or something??? I have dealt with Islam and God since months and they just convert like that. Just like that! Overnight!
Is that a sign from God that I should convert too or what?

    • ANSWER:
Buddhism, Atheism, Christianity, Islam, what a diverse mix you have there!

Sounds like you are confused about what is the right belief for you.
Do not be influenced by parents, do your own research.

I suggest you look into Islam, it welcomes many reverts from all walks of life.
Compare the religions, see which ones you agree with.

As for these religious experiences, I don't believe it was Jesus (peace be upon him) who cured your mother's friend, I believe it was God. God is the all-powerful Supreme Being. Jesus is His prophet who is a human being, just like us, he is unable to cure the sick or see what we are doing. If this was the case, then Christianity is preaching polytheism not monotheism.

Once you realize the truth, there is no hesitation or doubt, you know it in your heart that its right.

I respect practicing Christians greatly, in the Qur'an it says:

"Those who believe and those who are Jews and Christians, and Sabians, whoever believes in God and the Last Day and do righteous good deeds shall have their reward with their Lord, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve" [2:62, Holy Qur'an]

However, Christians today have a different image of God. They believe Jesus (pbuh) is the son of God. Or some believe Jesus is God in the form of man. All of these theories go against the oneness of Allah (swt) Previous people also thought the angels were the daughter of God, but Allah (swt) refuted these claims.

"They said, "GOD has begotten a son!" Be He glorified. He is the Most Rich. To Him belongs everything in the heavens and everything on earth. You have no proof to support such a blasphemy. Are you saying about GOD what you do not know?" [10:68, Holy Qu'ran]

On an end note, PLEASE do not revert to Islam just because you are afraid of Hell. Actually read into Islam, know that Allah (swt) is most Merciful and Loving to His creations, also develop a yearning to be closer to Allah (swt) your Creator.

      Peace :-)

  15. QUESTION:
    Questions for Christians...?
I asked a question earlier going on a rant about how I cant stand super religious people and it pretty much got me nowhere...

I am not an athiest, but agnostic, and I do not want to come off as a person who thinks he knows everything...So I have 2 questions for all the religious ppl out there who are so sure of their religion...

    1. 4,000 little kids die a painful death from starvation every hour!!!
...Now I've talked to believers here in the Filthy rich U.S.A. saying that they know God exists because they prayed for a pay raise and they got it, they prayed for a husband and they found him, or got their prayers answered for something not as important as a little kid crying out to God for food or water and being left to die. Almost 100,000 kids a day die from starvation...What sense does it make at all for a God to answer your prayers about your career or whatever your situation might be over 100,000 kids a day?
    2. How is it that archaeologists have found many different story books (such as the epic of gilgamesh) that were in circulation in the middle east thousands of years before the Bible that is the same exact story as the Bible with different names...and Believers just ignore it and stick to the Bible?

    These story contains:
-The story of adam and eve
    -Noah and the Flood
-The virgin Birth of the Messiah
-The Messiah raising people from the dead and healing people
-the messiah dieing for the sins of the world
-the messiah rising after three days and promsing to come back
    ...and much more....
If it clearly appears that there is great evidence that the Bible was copied from older stories...How do people ignore that?
Extension for question #1: Why do people act like God is active in every detail of their lives? How come ppl dont realize that good things and bad things both happen and its not God blessing you or Satan out to get you? Why would God bless you with a new job and ignore the millions of kids dieing? Do you think you are superior over other people?
Extension for question 2: They know that the documents were older by carbon dating and other reliable methods

    • ANSWER:
      1. I agree with you about this. It's hypocritical and naive for Christians to thank God for the little things in their lives, as if God filled out an executive order in heaven that Joe would get a pay raise. BUT, that said, this doesn't mean that God doesn't exist. It means that some Christians are petty.

      2. You're confused here. While many scholars DO believe that various stories in the Old Testament were copied (or adapted from) other stories, the vast majority of scholars do NOT believe that any Christian doctrines were borrowed from other stories. As one example of how you're incorrect here, and to make a long point in a short sentence, there was no concept of a messiah outside of Judaism. You are using Jewish/Christian terminology and reading it into (unspecified) pagan sources without warrant.

  16. QUESTION:
I wrote this song called "Mama Is A Lot Like Jesus" Is It Any Good?
    Verse 1-
I’ve seen her give her last few dollars to man on the street,
She works hard to make the money.. For us to have enough to eat,
And I know she reads the Bible because she knows every verse,
I’m blessed everyday to have a mamma like her,

    Chorus-
My mama is a lot like Jesus,
She was sent from up above,
Me and daddy seen her read the good book,
She keeps her faith in God’s love,
And she forgives us for our sins,
She’d sacrifice her life for us,
Mama is a lot like Jesus

    Verse 2-
I've seen her grow her own food in the yard
and grow a flower right through the dead,
she can sing a song that she sung in church
and keep the words up in her head,
When I get let down and broken
she can find the words that heal my heart
and when i get myself in trouble she'll lead me right through the dark

    • ANSWER:
personally, i love it. i think that's the sweetest thing i've ever heard, and your analogy actually makes a lot of sense. sadly, you're probably going to get some crap over the whole "comparing a human-being to jesus" stuff, but it seems like she's not just a regular human to you. so sweet!
      great song,
      most DEFINITELY keep writing. :)

  17. QUESTION:
What do you think of my first chapter?
It was a dark day. Gray wide and wispy clouds hid the sun, and tiny tear drops of rain dripped from their thin ends. The air was sultry and had sharp bursts of salty wind. The breezes whistled through the crisp leaves of the boiling summer air. Ezra looked out her fogged window at the looming storm. In the glossy steamed window the reflection of her great tentative shadowy brown eyes came into focus. Soon the window glazed over in humidity and she turned on her heal to pay her attention to the mirror.
The darkness from outside gloomed into the small bathroom, and made her vast eyes even darker and wider. Her dark golden hair soon dripped in front of her eyes and trickled warm shower water onto the counter. She combed her wet hair with her fingers, digging her glossy red nails into her scalp.
She heard her name being called from afar, muffled through the closed door. It was her aunt. Ezra clutched the arid tough yellow towel against her cold soaking wet fresh body, and called down to her aunt. “I will be down in a minute”.
Ezra grabbed her grey sweat pants and light blue sweater from the end of the damp aged counter next to the sink and slid into them. She threw the towel into the hamper to her right and then placed her hand on the doorknob. With a turn the intense muggy smell of micro waved old salmon and heated assortments of frozen vegetables slammed into Ezra’s body, totally erasing her sanitation with microwave cooking odor. Ezra turned off the bathroom light and diminished into the short hallway.
She walked down the short flight of stairs and soon found her self in the tiny brightly lit kitchen. Her aunt was wearing a huge bright pink cotton robe over her petite frail body. She held two steamed plastic bowls in her hands. She slowly placed them on the table and then plopped down herself on the spinning white chair. Ezra took the seat opposite to her and stared at the plastic yellow tablecloths. “Ezra, honey, I made you some vegetables, I think that you should just maybe have one cup of the rice though, really you should not be eating carbs”, hissed her aunt. Ezra kept her eyes on the placemat, and slowly began shoveling food into her mouth.
It had been a month since her parents and older brother had died in a car crash on their way to her brother’s camp. Ezra wishes everyday she could have been the fourth passenger; life was empty and horrible ever since she was forced to live with her uncouth cruel aunt and her many boyfriends. Ezra wished she didn’t have to live this life, with her closet sized room in this old smelly house in the middle of nowhere with her cruel aunt who is now insulting her weight. Ezra had put on thirty pounds since the accident, she couldn’t help it, and food was her only friend. She wished she could be beautiful again. She would do anything to shed the weight that held her pain and horrible past. She wanted to become a new person. Ezra stared at the food in front of her, and then at her aunt who had been chatting while Ezra was thinking. Ezra suddenly spoke; “I think I am going to go to bed now, I’m tired, but thanks for dinner aunt Dolores”. “Okay dear, just make sure you actually go to bed this time, I’m having friends over and I don’t need you getting a glass of water at 10 and stinking up my rendezvous” murmured her aunt.
Ezra quickly left the kitchen and stomped down to the basement where her room was, Tears began to stream down her eyes. “Why cant I stand up to her”?, “why am I so gross and fat”?, “why is my life horrible”?, thought Ezra as she slammed her tear soaked face onto her pillow. She began to slam her fist upon head, “I’m such a stupid fat worthless weak loser” she whispered harshly over and over again to her pillow. Suddenly a sound came from the corner of the room. Ezra whipped her wet face and swollen eyes from her pillow. Her books had fallen from underneath the mirror. She angrily walked over to the mirror and stared at the books. At the top was the bible. She heatedly picked up the bible and hurled it onto the floor. Thunder slammed from outside. “Screw the damn bible, screw this life, Screw god, he never did anything to me, he never helped me!” she screamed another thunder cracked and hard wind hit the small house. “ I bet even Satan would be more helpful then god, I would sell my soul to Satan to fix my life, I TRUST HIM MORE THANY ANY GOD!” She shrieked with her fists in the air. “I SELL MY SOUL TO THE DEVIL” she screeched! Suddenly herd of thunder cracked and the cellar door flew open with a loud pound!, a gust of misty grey wind hurdled into the basement and surrounded Ezra. Another thunder crack and then BLACKNESS.

    • ANSWER:
Way too many adjectives and adverbs. Learn to describe things with nouns and verbs. If the window is fogged up, how can she see her reflection, and how does it get fogged up by the humidity later?

This looks like a first draft, once you've written a first draft, go back and read through it carefully, and check for spelling errors (one turns on one's heel, not heal) and tighten it up. Get rid of all the extra words. The description of the eyes is way over the top. I don't know how to picture "great tentative shadowy brown eyes." Why is it important for me to have this much description of her eyes at this point in the story?

To get the reader into the story, begin with some sort of action. Put your characters into a situation where they have to make a decision quickly, place them in a dilemma. Make them really want something badly. Give the reader some reason to identify with the main character's situation and begin to root either for the character to get what he/she wants or for the character not to get it because the character is not likable.

These are just a few pointers, hope it helps. Learning to write well is a lifelong process, and you're wise to post things out where people can give you reactions. Don't get discouraged, keep trying, join a writers group were published authors are willing to give helpful critiques,

  18. QUESTION:
WHAT DO YOU THINK? WILL HAPPEN NEXT?

Overnight!
Is that a sign from God that I should convert to or what?
*** that I should convert toO

    • ANSWER:
This is a dilemma for many children. They feel pressured to convert to a religion because their parents belong to one. You have to understand that your parents are only doing what they think is in your best interest. Don't convert out of fear. Fear is never a reason to choose a religion. Regardless if God, hell, or reincarnation exist; fear should not be your motivation. Do your research and meditate on what you find. The truth will come to you in time. God Bless! +?+

Healing Foods Bible Bernard Ward

Addiction is a difficult and devastating problem, even though the goal of the addiction is to find pleasure, or relief in the form of escape from reality. Unfortunately, solutions the addict turns to are progressively detrimental to the mind and the body, and can even end the existence of that person.

Perhaps that is why the addict suffers from such extreme denial that they have a problem. The alcoholic will tell stories about how they drive better after drinking, and the drug addict will swear they think more clearly when stoned. A sex addict craves the good feelings they get from sex without considering the down side of their wanderings, thinking perhaps that whatever happens will always happen to someone else.

This addiction has the person constant craving that special feeling of good, or high, the state where the mind only floats above all the world until time virtually stops still. What possibly could be a good thing, if it were real, is in reality extremely negative to the person and dangerous, possibly life threatening. The attempt to escape through addiction can result in a form of unintended suicide. The memories and the life are erased forever.

It is sad that so many people are addicted to drugs, alcohol, sex, and other obsessions. What is it about reality that they want to escape from? There is a story in the Bible of an attempt to have it all, wine, women, and song, but the goal of satisfaction was never reached. People who tend to move towards an addictive lifestyle are those without bonds to other human beings. They may lack or have a bad family life or history of abuse. They may hang around with others who are bad influences, co-dependents who are not helpful to the person who wants to find a way out of their addiction. At some point, there is a lack of human connections, and the drug and alcohol abuse can then lead to interrupted brain connections.

The disconnected person seeks relief in food, booze, drugs, sex, or other endless pursuits of the happiness they think will occur when they at last can dim out the problems in their life, the bad memories, abuse, and other negatives. It does not work in the end, and the addict faces disease, disaster, and death.

One of the biggest problems today in the U.S. is overweight, even in children. People are drugging themselves into diseases like diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, strokes, and early death by their food addictions. Not unlike drugs or alcohol, or sex, food addictions are an attempt to self medicate with the addictive substance. It becomes a societal problem with health care, and the genetic factors that help pass this particular addiction along in families.

Being disciplined, acknowledging and dealing with reality are solutions to some addictions. Others can only be stopped by drastic confinements, and social programs. Any way you look at it, addiction problems are expensive, to the person and to society.

Henry Wright On Cardiovascular Disease

Cardiovascular disease can be broken into three classes involving three different spiritual roots. The first class includes angina and arrhythmias, coming out of Fear, Anxiety and Stress.

Luke 21:26 In the last days men's hearts shall fail them because of Fear .

All of these arrhythmic problems are the result of Fear, Anxiety and Stress because the first receptor cell of fear through the hypothalamus is the heart muscle. Just as the nerve signal is interrupted in mitral valve prolapse, so it is interrupted in heart arrhythmias.

Suppressed stress and anger can reduce white blood cells, as in the case of mitral valve prolapse. For a long time they told us that mitral valve prolapse was the result of an infection, but for several years we have known that mitral valve prolapse is an anxiety disorder. It results from a neurological imbalance coming out of the mind-body connection.

When you are not at peace with God, yourself and others, your body will respond neurologically. There is an interruption of the nerve transmission controlling the mitral valve which regulates flow of blood through the heart.

I have taught that for many years. In fact, we have had great success with the healing of mitral valve prolapse. There are literally hundreds of people who no longer have mitral valve prolapse because of the spiritual insight we have about what is behind the disease.

Mitral valve prolapse is now considered a syndrome. It is associated with a slight imbalance in the autonomic nervous system. The autonomic or unconscious nervous system controls and affects most, if not all, of our body functions and systems. This includes our heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature, sweating, gastrointestinal motility and secretions, digestion and sexual responses, to name a few.

Stressful stimuli such as Fear, Rage, Anger or even job pressure can elicit a stress response from our autonomic nervous system, causing the valve to malfunction. It is not able to shut or open properly.

Mitral valve prolapse is a common cardiac condition which is thought to affect ten to twenty percent of the general population. Both males and females are affected, but females outnumber males by three to one. It is hereditary, but not from a genetic standpoint.

Recent studies have shown that approximately 40 to 60 percent of symptomatic mitral valve prolapse patients also suffer from panic attacks. This only confirms what we have been teaching for many years; mitral valve prolapse is an anxiety disorder.

  1. QUESTION:
How do you use "The Secret" to visualize healing?
I've seen The Secret DVD and I'm a Christian. I believe in the laws of attraction, gratitude, ask/believe/receive (Bible: ask, seek, knock). I’m trying to relate this to my life in terms of how to bring about of a chronic and very painful illness which I experience on a daily basis. How can I use “the Secret” and related principles to bring about a healing? I try to visualize wellness, meditate on beautiful things and things for which I’ve so very grateful, but the pain is so chronic that it’s difficult to enact the principles. Yes, I’m seeing a remarkable specialist and am seeking all medical remedies, but I want to seek more spiritual and other remedies. Any ideas for how to visualize this out of my life? I found some of the principles in The Secret very interesting, but not specific enough for me with regard to healing. Thanks in advance.

    • ANSWER:
      Hello:

I am a Christian and have the DVD also. I am glad that you are pursuing numbers of avenues of dealing with your health.
How I interpreted using the law of attraction for your health is to see yourself in the state, or condition that you ideally would like to be in. Example: "See" yourself in perfect health.

I think the combination of prayer, determination or persistence and seeing yourself in perfect health is the best way to proceed.

At first, I couldn't think of where these verses came from. Then I realized it is from the book of Sirach, part of the Apocryphal books that are not in protestant bibles. I wish they would have accepted them into their bibles, maybe there wouldn't be so much death caused by faith healers. Thank you for posting this.

  5. QUESTION:
Have you ever experienced visible or invisible stigmata?
Reported cases of Stigmata take various forms. Many show some or all of the five Holy Wounds that were, according to the Bible, inflicted on Jesus during his crucifixion: wounds in the wrists and feet, from nails, and in the side, from a lance. Some stigmatics display wounds to the forehead similar to those caused by the crown of thorns. Other reported forms include tears of blood or sweating blood, wounds to the back as from scourging.

Some stigmatics claim to feel the pain of wounds with no external marks; these are referred to as invisible stigmata. In other claims, stigmata are accompanied by extreme pain. Some stigmatics' wounds do not appear to clot, and stay fresh and uninfected. The blood from the wounds is said, in some cases, to have a pleasant, perfumed odor, known as the Odour of Sanctity.

Individuals who have obtained the stigmata are many times described as ecstatics. At the time of receiving the stigmata they are overwhelmed with emotions. In more recent times an individual’s stigmata is reported to heal within a few hours of its reception. Blood, which is believed to be a combination of Christ’s blood and the stigmatic’s, pours from the individual’s wounds for unspecified amounts of time and suddenly dries up, and the wound is healed. Some individuals with stigmata in the past sought medical attention, but neither remedies nor medical treatment of any other sort could cure their wounds. Stigmatics, such as Saint Francis were affected by the stigmata for an extended period of time; however, the wounds never rotted or possessed a rank odor.
Some stigmatics claim to feel the pain of wounds with no external marks; these are referred to as invisible stigmata.

    • ANSWER:
yeah, i have experienced invisible stigmata. I tend to have it when ever i am emotionally overwhelmed. It usually hurts on my wrists, but i have had times where all five holy wounds hurt like hell. Though I've never had any marks left or anything, I'm pretty sure that's what it is since I have no eternal bleeding or anything of the such. I've gone to the doctors office over the same thing constantly, and I've had multiple X-Ray's done, blood work done, anything you could think of, but they haven't found the cause. When it first started happening, I thought it was normal. Then [Yes, i know this is going to sound really dumb], I watched an anime series called "Chrono Crusade", and I got to a certain episode where they talked about stigmata and I was a little curious, so I looked it up. And that's how I pretty much know I have it. Everything they have ever said are symptoms of "Invisible Stigmata" I've felt, and sadly, It hasn't gone away. I'm literally in pain everyday because of it.

  6. QUESTION:
Advice please...Boyfriends Vegetarian. Is it healthy or not?
Hi, I have heard and read many contrasting opinions on whether eating vegetarian is healthy...My nutritionist says that most veg patients he sees have poor levels of some vital nutrition and it is shown that a high level of vegetarians are far more prone to auto immune disorders... I have hear they are often anemic as they rarely get enough iron one of which the greatest source of a special kind of iron called heme iron comes from beef.... If I believed it was healthy or had more knowledge to support that being vegetarian can be as healthy or more so, then I would gladly consider changing because I would like to do this for him/with him but I have tried to eat little to no meat before and felt not very well at all and become drained of strength and energy and I become more pale. Also I am very interested in health as a practice and natural remedies and I have a few health challenges that I am trying to heal...and do not want to make a poor diet choice that might hinder my progress....I know that many culture eat veg and I sometimes wonder if that works for some ethnic cultures of people and not others depending on their diet for thousands of years and what they have adapted to. Also there is the moral factor of eating something that was alive at one point. My BF is Indian and to him it is a moral factor as well, though he says it does not matter that I am non veg. I was raised christian not strict but somewhat and we always believed from the bible that man was supposed to hunt for food as he needs it and not for excess....or game but that animals are meant for food too....So I am a open minded person but I am not sure which is right or healthy and so I seek advice...and if you have any relevant studies or articles, I would greatly appreciate it. I am trying to make an informed decision and I am sure I will get mixed opinions but I hope to mostly find out real facts and opinions of people who are not too biased to either side of this matter. Thank you for any advice or information
P.S. I am allergic to most all beans and legumes and I do not eat soy......does that mean I won't be able to get enough protein?
Maybe you are right funnguy but I am trying to seriously consider it. It takes time and information to change what I have thought for so long but I am here to learn. Thanks for the taking time to answer. Take care! I would love to hear from people who eat veg what kinds of foods you eat to get good protein besides beans, lentils, and soy? Thanks so much to all
    Funguyy I meant

    • ANSWER:
if you don't have an aversion to eating meat and if you think your health suffers from reduced consumption of meat then eat it.
i read the whole statement. i know that there are studies and articles that will be pro and con vegetarainism.i don't get any feeling at all that you really have any desire to become a vegetarian.
i just read the addition details. even less desire than i previously thought.

  7. QUESTION:
Is there any other way to get to heaven other than being Born Again?
The Bible tells us that you must be Born Again to see The Kingdom of God but some people seem to think they know another way. This is the story that I reference.

St. John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. When Jesus told Nicodemus he needed to be born again He compared the born again experience with a story that Nicodemus knew, the story of Moses and the brass serpeant and in doing so, He gave us a model to help us understand what it means to be Born Again. If we examine the elements of the story we see that; 1. the people were grumbling against God, 2. God sent snakes to bite them and they were poisoned, 3. they repented, Moses prayed and God gave them a remedy for their poisoned condition, a brass serpeant on a pole, 4. God told them to look at the remedy and believe and He would heal them, and 5. anyone that did this was healed. Likewise, 1. we (all mankind) are sinful because of the snake (the devil) and Adam and Eve's disobedience, 2. we have been poisoned by sin, 3. we will die spiritually unless we get help, 4. God sent Jesus to die on the cross as the remedy for our sins, and 5. if we believe in Jesus as The Lamb of God who takes away the sins of this world (our sins) we will be healed and live, eternally. And, that is in complete agreement with The Bible and this verse, The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:7b

    • ANSWER:
Jesus IS the way, the truth and the light. No one goes to the Father except through Jesus. that means you have to repent of your sins and truly mean it and accept Jesus into your heart. there is no other way but through Him.

  8. QUESTION:
This question is for people of the Jehovah's Witness profession. Do you agree with the following?
When Jesus told Nicodemus he needed to be born again He compared the born again experience with a story that Nicodemus knew, the story of Moses and the brass serpeant and in doing so, He gave us a model to help us understand what it means to be Born Again.

    If we examine the elements of the story we see that;

    1. the people were grumbling against God,
    2. God sent snakes to bite them and they were poisoned,
    3. they repented, Moses prayed and God gave them a remedy for their poisoned condition, a brass serpeant on a pole,
    4. God told them to look at the remedy and believe and He would heal them, and
    5. anyone that did this was healed.

    Likewise,

    1. we (all mankind) are sinful because of the snake (the devil) and Adam and Eve's disobedience,
    2. we have been poisoned by sin,
    3. we will die spiritually unless we get help,
    4. God sent Jesus to die on the cross as the remedy for our sins, and
    5. if we believe in Jesus as The Lamb of God who takes away the sins of this world (our sins) we will be healed and live, eternally.

And, that is in complete agreement with The Bible and this verse,

The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin.

    1 John 1:7b

    • ANSWER:
The word profession does have a second definition of "religion, a faith", so I guess this is somewhat appropriate. The brass serpent was a physical healing, the Lord on the Cross was a Spiritual healing. The Jews had to "look" at the brass serpent erected on the pole in the middle of the camp for them to heal physically, while the "looking" at Jesus on the Cross did not necessarily spiritually heal all including the Pharisees. Looking at the True Jesus Christ as a belief for forgiveness is what heals spiritually as Jesus said in John 3:15 whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

      Matthew 25:31-46 (Contemporary English Version)

      The Final Judgment

31When the Son of Man comes in his glory with all of his angels, he will sit on his royal throne. 32The people of all nations will be brought before him, and he will separate them, as shepherds separate their sheep from their goats.

33He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. 34Then the king will say to those on his right, "My father has blessed you! Come and receive the kingdom that was prepared for you before the world was created. 35When I was hungry, you gave me something to eat, and when I was thirsty, you gave me something to drink. When I was a stranger, you welcomed me, 36and when I was naked, you gave me clothes to wear. When I was sick, you took care of me, and when I was in jail, you visited me."

37Then the ones who pleased the Lord will ask, "When did we give you something to eat or drink? 38When did we welcome you as a stranger or give you clothes to wear 39or visit you while you were sick or in jail?"

40The king will answer, "Whenever you did it for any of my people, no matter how unimportant they seemed, you did it for me."

41Then the king will say to those on his left, "Get away from me! You are under God's curse. Go into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels! 42I was hungry, but you did not give me anything to eat, and I was thirsty, but you did not give me anything to drink. 43I was a stranger, but you did not welcome me, and I was naked, but you did not give me any clothes to wear. I was sick and in jail, but you did not take care of me."

44Then the people will ask, "Lord, when did we fail to help you when you were hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in jail?"

45The king will say to them, "Whenever you failed to help any of my people, no matter how unimportant they seemed, you failed to do it for me."

46Then Jesus said, "Those people will be punished forever. But the ones who pleased God will have eternal life.

  10. QUESTION:
What religion should i associate with?
Ok I joined the army and have no idea what to put on my dog tags and it got me thinking what am i.
I beleive that there is one God, that Jesus came to earth lived a perfect life and died on the cross to save our souls. I beleive in the Bible and all its teachings and I beleive it to be true.
I was raised Baptist however through my life I have had many encounters with the spiritual world. I beleive that there are spirits and demons that walk this earth. I firmly beleive that every thing that God put on this earth was placed here to be used. I beleive that many plants can be used to heal and would rather use them than drugs. I am very in touch with nature and animals. I beleive that God speaks to us all in different ways and I beleive that we all have special gifts that should be used to help one another. I studied a few magical religions and as far as spells go i think that they are really just prayers to God (whichever gods, goddesses, or God that religion beleives in) with a visual representation or herbal remedy.
Any help would be good at least ill be able to narrow my searches...nothing is out of the question i was seriously thinking about putting Druid on my dog tags. So even ancient almost extinct religions are fine with me. Thank you very much in advance

  11. QUESTION:
Is there any other way to get to heaven other than being Born Again?
    ref: The Bible

1 John 1:7b
